Summary

The #1 New York Times bestselling series continues with a thrilling revelation -- brand-new tribes of dragons!

Blue the SilkWing is content。 Life in his Hive is safe; he loves his family; he has enough to eat。 And Pantala has been at peace for as long as he can remember -- SilkWings and HiveWings live and work together in harmony, and because they stay vigilant, no one has seen a dangerous LeafWing in years。

Now that Blue's sister, Luna, is undergoing her Metamorphosis, Blue knows things are going to change。 Luna will have her wings and her silk, be assigned a partner and a work order, and move to another Hive。 A few days later, Blue's own wings and silk will come in。

But nothing could prepare Blue for what happens when Luna's wings start to grow。 Suddenly his world is turned upside down, throwing him into dangers he never knew existed。 Pantala isn't as peaceful as it seems, and Blue isn't safe。 Whether he's ready or not, it's time to adapt -- and fight for his life。

I was a bit disconcerted by this new land, with new kinds of dragons, and new cultures to learn about。 I felt it was a bit stretched and didn't enjoy it as much as the first 10 books, but I can see that soon the dragons of the 2 continents will meet up again。 I was a bit disconcerted by this new land, with new kinds of dragons, and new cultures to learn about。 I felt it was a bit stretched and didn't enjoy it as much as the first 10 books, but I can see that soon the dragons of the 2 continents will meet up again。 。。。more

Tui T。 Sutherland’s “Wings of Fire: The Lost Continent” is yet another fantastic installment in this series of dragons。 Years ago, I had read through the Wings of Fire series, from books 1-10。 I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the world of dragons, the different dragon types, and how their adventures unfolded。 Eventually, this book series left my mind completely, and I moved away from reading。 However, I began to pick up books once again, and after reading through a number of them, I rediscov Tui T。 Sutherland’s “Wings of Fire: The Lost Continent” is yet another fantastic installment in this series of dragons。 Years ago, I had read through the Wings of Fire series, from books 1-10。 I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the world of dragons, the different dragon types, and how their adventures unfolded。 Eventually, this book series left my mind completely, and I moved away from reading。 However, I began to pick up books once again, and after reading through a number of them, I rediscovered my love for the Wings of Fire book by picking up the first book, being “Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy。” I knew about the books that were released after The Lost Continent, as this was the 11th book in the series, and there were three more afterwards。 Knowing this, I decided to go right to this book instead of reading the others (not great, I know) to prepare myself for the ones ahead。 This certainly was not a mistake。 For context, there are two main dragon tribes; SilkWings and HiveWings。 Queen Wasp is the ruler of the Hives, as the HiveWings have control over the SilkWings。 Blue is one of these colorful dragons, and his sister is Luna。 She eventually is discovered to have the ability to produce flamesilk, an ability that is forbidden in the Hives。 Blue is suspected to be a flamesilk as well, so he retreats and hides out elsewhere。 He runs into Cricket, a HiveWing who cannot be mind controlled by Queen Wasp for an unknown reason。 Cricket disguises Blue as a HiveWing, and they go to rescue Swordtail (Luna’s boyfriend) from Misbehaver’s Way。 The group eventually runs into three LeafWings, where the youngest of which, Sundew, reluctantly joins them。 They are sent to steal the Book of Clearsight, a book that is said to hold the sights of the future of the world。 Blue is captured by the HiveWings and taken to the dungeon with the rest of the captured flamesilks, where he reunites with Luna。 He is eventually busted out by his friends and taken to a beach, where he must begin his metamorphosis and develop his wings。 The book itself was very well written and crafted。 However, I disliked Sutherland’s overuse of ‘said’ after most dialogue segments。 As I’m sure everyone has been taught, there are hundreds of other words that can replace said。 Whether this was an intentional choice or not, I’m not a fan of it。 Certain dialogue parts felt very repetitive, and while it didn’t take away from the action of the story, it was definitely a redundant factor。 There weren’t many bad points about this book, but this is one that really stuck out to me。 Sutherland also uses this technique in the other installments in the series, so if there is a reader out there that dislikes the overuse of ‘said’ in a book, this series may not be for them。 Nonetheless, this book had plenty of factors going for it。 The world-building was phenomenal in this story, as the reader was welcomed into a completely different setting with new dragons and new elements in their society。 From book 10 to book 11, it was a rather seamless transition from one world to another。 Each dragon tribe has their own personalities; SilkWings are rather laid back, HiveWings are more aggressive and assertive, and LeafWings are very on-edge。 This is because the LeafWings were nearly wiped out by the HiveWings during the Tree Wars, and they are very upset about it and are looking for some vengeance。 This is particularly expressed in the way Sundew acts, as she is very uncomfortable around Cricket。 Speaking of actions and personalities, each character in this story is very unique and very well expressed。 Blue is rather cautious and caring, always looking for a safe way to get through things。 Cricket is bubbly and curious, always asking questions and driving the conversation。 Swordtail is rather obsessed about Luna, wanting to get her back as soon as possible。 Sundew is angry by nature, as she is practically surrounded by HiveWings, including having to work with one。 I had a very fun time rereading this book, and I’m thrilled to be returning to the Wings of Fire series by Tui T。 Sutherland and reading through the new books。 。。。more

This isn’t the fault of the book itself, but the way that the LGBT rep in this cycle of the series was hyped up made me think (like the clown I am) that the main couple this time around, Blue and Cricket, would be LGBT。 But alas, they aren’t, and I’m salty。The world building is the one thing about these books that consistently gets better and better。 I am curious about where the story will go from here so I will read the next book, but this series is really starting to test my patience。

This book takes place in pantara, the home of Silkwings and, Hivewings。 The characters: Blue, Cricket, Luna, Io, Sundew, and Swordtail。 I am reading the entire series。 Plot:spoilers: Luna is a lavasilk so Blue is very scared, then he has to rescue her with the help of Cricket and Swordtail and Sundew the rescue her and save the day right before Blue’s metamorphosis。 I liked how the book ended because of the cliffhanger。 My favorite part was when they got Honey drops at the start of the book。 I t This book takes place in pantara, the home of Silkwings and, Hivewings。 The characters: Blue, Cricket, Luna, Io, Sundew, and Swordtail。 I am reading the entire series。 Plot:spoilers: Luna is a lavasilk so Blue is very scared, then he has to rescue her with the help of Cricket and Swordtail and Sundew the rescue her and save the day right before Blue’s metamorphosis。 I liked how the book ended because of the cliffhanger。 My favorite part was when they got Honey drops at the start of the book。 I thought this book could not get any better because it’s already so good。 This book is a action adventure book。 。。。more

I'll be honest, this series seems to be getting kind of repetitive。。。 it's written very nicely but I feel like I'm getting a bit bored of it。 I'll be honest, this series seems to be getting kind of repetitive。。。 it's written very nicely but I feel like I'm getting a bit bored of it。 。。。more

Starting the third series。 It took me a while to get into this one。 I was getting tired of reading in the same universe as the previous 10 books。。。 but it finally got interesting part way through, and the rest was enjoyable。

I don't like Blue very much because when the is danger, he is still like, "Wait! Maybe the Hivewings can fix me and make me normal!", but I still like this book。 I don't like Blue very much because when the is danger, he is still like, "Wait! Honestly after years of not reading these books that I loved so much as a preteen。。。 I forgot how fun they were。 Tui Sutherland is actually very good at worldbuilding but I think she gets overlooked because she writes for a younger audience

Beautiful。 I feel like the writing quality has declined since the first arc, though the books following it were still good。 I feel like a fresh start was exactly what the doctor ordered。 I loved the new world building and the story was done really well。

4。5 stars。At first I thought that this arc was not going to be as good as the other arcs but I was wrong。 Its still as good as the other arcs。 I didn't like that it didn't say what colour Luna's wings were, and there were a few mis-typed things I'm pretty sure。 But other then that, it was great! 。。。more

Cute, and I'm interested in this new continent, but slow paced and I don't get as excited about the cowardly characters in her series。 I'll definitely read the next one although I hear it's about Cricket and not Luna, which is too bad。 Cute, and I'm interested in this new continent, but slow paced and I don't get as excited about the cowardly characters in her series。 I'll definitely read the next one although I hear it's about Cricket and not Luna, which is too bad。 。。。more

My favriote charecter is Luna becuase she is the one who causes mischief and is the first Flamesilk。what suprised me was when Blue the parinoid one actualy broke his law。I wouldn't change the book because then it wouldn't have have a good storyline。 My favriote charecter is Luna becuase she is the one who causes mischief and is the first Flamesilk。what suprised me was when Blue the parinoid one actualy broke his law。I wouldn't change the book because then it wouldn't have have a good storyline。 。。。more

This was a book that was full of new stuff that made the book very fun to read。 All new characters, dragons, and a whole other continent make it seem like your reading a whole different series and it's very refreshing。 I would recommend this book after you finish all 10 books before this one。 You should also read the wings of fire book "Darkstalker" before this one because it has some valuable information for this book。 This was a book that was full of new stuff that made the book very fun to read。 All new characters, dragons, and a whole other continent make it seem like your reading a whole different series and it's very refreshing。 I would recommend this book after you finish all 10 books before this one。 You should also read the wings of fire book "Darkstalker" before this one because it has some valuable information for this book。 。。。more

I'm surprised NO ONE else has ever tried to find the lost continent, on either side。 Like, were there no dragon explorers in the past? Was Clearsight really the ONLY person to ever go to the other side? I have loved all the previous Wings of Fire books, they are a favourite with my children as well。 Often, my children have read the books four times or more before I get the chance to pick them up, and that was the case with this one。 Sadly, because my little one does not yet understand the concept of suspense and finding out for yourself, I knew the story and all the characters before I started reading。 Despite that, it was a very enjoyable read as the Wings of Fire books always are, with charac I have loved all the previous Wings of Fire books, they are a favourite with my children as well。 Often, my children have read the books four times or more before I get the chance to pick them up, and that was the case with this one。 Sadly, because my little one does not yet understand the concept of suspense and finding out for yourself, I knew the story and all the characters before I started reading。 Despite that, it was a very enjoyable read as the Wings of Fire books always are, with characters I happily identify with (even though they are dragons and I am not!) 。。。more

I loved this book! Just like all Wings of Fire books, it was funny and well-written。 (And it introduced my favorite character in the series, Cricket!!!)。 Blue was an amazing character to learn about, and discovering an entirely new continent in the Wings of Fire world was。。。 wow! Three new tribes!!! And it was interesting to see how much more human-like the Pantalan dragons are, with their lightbulbs and books (books! hooray!) and candy shops。And, also, this definitely has my favorite Wings of F I loved this book! Great first book in the Lost Continent Prophecy arc introducing the world of Pantala

There is a lot of intrigue on how this world went from Clearsight's arrival to what we come to thousands of years later。 How and why did the Tree Wars begin? Why are the SilkWings treated like servants? And how does this society survive if so many of the trees are cut down? They do know that trees are needed for oxygen, right?Once again the main character is wonderful。 I like how empathic he is and how he tries to understand all the dragons around him。 I like how he slowly comes to realize that There is a lot of intrigue on how this world went from Clearsight's arrival to what we come to thousands of years later。 How and why did the Tree Wars begin? The concept of these new dragons is so freaking cool! While I loved the first 2 acts of this series, this continent really drew me in。 So original and the plot of this arc is so important for younger readers to explore。 And honestly, Blue is me。
